Been Thinking…still (part 2)

Ok, so where was I. Yes. Those millions of thoughts and ideas (did I say, “dozens” last time? silly me) that run through my mind. Back to stay at home enterprises…I have really wanted to do a couple of things. Not Avon or Mary Kay (though I am sure those are great if you a) love makeup, b) wear it, c) have a salesperson go-get-em personality, and d)you get the idea). Never Amway (hahahahahahahaha). Ok so nothing with pyramids –save those for Egypt. Seriously, I have considered becoming a Pampered Chef consultant. Why? Because I LOVE FOOD! and I love cooking and baking and trying new recipes and also because I want the stuff that comes in the kit!!!! Other motivations for becoming a PCC are because I think it would be a great way to get women together to just relax and mingle; it could be a great co-ed type of mixer; and again, that stuff that comes in the kit and the ability to get more stuff at good deals! What is holding me back? Well, for one, I don’t have the start up kit fee.

So not only have I thought about Pampered Chef (and this has been for a few years now), I tossed the idea around BRIEFLY about Partylite candles after I had a party. That didn’t last long.

The newest Home Based interest is Discovery Toys. Yep. My friend Karyn, who has been my like “best friend since 4th grade”, has recently become a DT Educator/rep…or whatever they are called. “Do you want to have a party?” she asked me one day. “Sure” I said because she has been my friend for over 20 years and I want to help her out. Not thinking I live in a small one bedroom apartment with mostly baby stuff everywhere! (speaking of baby…he is SUPPOSED to be tired and sleeping. I put him down and he is all giggles. well, now he is whimpering). Anyhow, so I met with her to look at the catalog and you know what? COOL TOYS! Very fun, educational and SAFE! My husband would FREAK out if I told him “honey guess what? I want to bring in more stuff in to this tiny one bedroom apartment  that you already say you are going to secretly toss things out when I am not looking!” We’ve completed 4 years of marriage (as of 9/20) and I would very much like to keep up the count. (And as for the start up kit fee for DT… I don’t have it).

Ok, so… if I had the start up kit fees and if I had a house to put the stuff…well I just might be a little more serious about taking the plunge. I hear Home Based work is GREAT. You make your own hours. There are perks involved sometimes with the companies. I guess they are called incentives. Anyhow, sounds great!

Ok…deterent #2  (#1 was the lack of start up kit fees) to why I have not started: I just find it hard to ask people to come to my parties. “Can you come and buy some stuff from me? Can you just charge a bunch of stuff? What? You are on a budget?” Yes, I have a hard time. For some reason, people seem to always want to come…but can’t make it on that day. (I don’t blame you!)

Well, I seriously think I will do one of the above (either DT for the toys or PC for the cooking stuff. You can just have so many candles—no offense to Sheila- my friend who does Partylite! If you want some really great candles, talk to her).
