Mental note for today

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Things to add to the baby book. Not sure why I don’t just go to that book now and enter it. Hmmm.

Anyhow,

Kayle is 24.2 lbs according to our bathroom scale (which he enjoys standing on). He now says “dog” instead of the sign for dog when he sees a picture of one. He signs and says Tree (for a few weeks now, acutally). Loves trains (choo choo) and cars. And every rectangular object is a choo choo (diaper wipe box, long legos, etc). He enjoys making marks with crayons and pens.

Rylynn goes tomorrow for her 6 month check up. She is eating cereal, applesauce, and we added bananas yesterday (4/1). She liked them! She also scootches and begins to go “back on her hind legs” a bit as in she is getting ready to then push up and crawl. But that has not happened yet. When she is really tired she says “nnnnnnn” “nnnn”. It’s cute!

First, I can’t even believe it is 3/29/09. I had so much I wanted to accomplish and already a QTR of it is over!

Goal 1: Organization

First, I need to start with my inbox. Holy cow? 3274 emails just floating around in there. Why can’t I just delete them when I am done or save them in a special folder?

You know, let’s just end here, post this, and go delete some emails right now.

Being pro-active!

Just to put it out there…

Since I am the only one who reads this, I feel that I should still have to update my page since it has been quite awhile.

Kayle is now 21 months and Rylynn will be 6 months next week.

Wow.

I better post this now and try for more later. The little girl is getting restless. She is not much into blogging at the moment.

Kayle at 16 months

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

16 months old and only 8 months of written life entered into the baby book. Tsk Tsk. I am so not good at that. Organizing. Planning. I think I need to work on that.

Soooooooooo, I just thought I would jot down a few things about my sweet little boy:

He loves to eat bananas. He has just started with PB&J sandwiches (thanks to Karyn) about 2 weeks ago. I have given them to him 3 times now and he seems to be ok with them. Mostly licking off the peanut butter from the bread.

Cookies, crackers, cheese, yogurt, watermelon, apples–though I cut apples into little pieces and he shoves them all into his mouth and eventually they all come back out. I am thinking he is just sucking the juice out. Hmmm

Cheetos, graham crackers, ice cream, yes..I do let him have a few of these items…pretty strict but feel a “slight slacking” since Rylynn.

He loves to books. He will sit and “read”. He loves all sizes of ball. Great arm that kid has. He actually likes to throw all toys like he does balls.

He likes to wear ball caps like daddy. He loves to put on shoes–any type. Any person’s.

He hates a diaper change. He hates when I wipe his face or wipe his nose.

He loves to play horsey. And slide and climb on his indoor jungle gym. And slide down the crib mattress propped up against the wall (thanks to his daddy). The mattress that will be his sisters. He loves to climb on the couch. And the kitchen table (we are working on that–having him not climb on the table).

He loves baths. And hiding in his cupboard. He loves taking the towels that are hanging on the oven handle and throw them on the ground.

He has 5 teeth. He knows where his nose is and where your nose is. And his sister’s nose (poor girl). He is learning eyes and ears…slowly.

He is learning sign language and says/signs “More” and “Eat” and “book” and is pretty good and “help” and is working on “yes”…along with several others.

He says “Mana” for banana. He says “no, mamma, dadda, shoes, nose.” He can tell you the cow says “mooooooo” (which sounds a bit like a cow with a southern drawl), and that the piggy says “oink oink” (more like “sniff sniff”.) For a dog, he makes a “panting” face.

He loves to jibber jabber. He loves to “hold” his baby sister and put his face up to her to “kiss” her and then squeezes her toes. And slaps her head. We are trying to teach him the two finger touch method like they show you at the Aquarium!

He loves to find rocks (”balls”) and pick up sticks. He loves the outdoors. The playground is his stomping ground.

He will turn on the t.v. (unless I close and lock the doors to the entertainment center). He will put things in the broken DVD part of the VHS/DVD player.

Most recently, he has started stacking things such as cushions and boxes (I think Santa is going to bring him some blocks!)

There are so many things to write about in the life of Kayle. I need to document this. Oh sure, I did enter things on the calendar. I have that filled out at least!

What did I come here for?

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Ok, so I was about to sit down a blog something and stepped on some crumbs on the floor which reminded me that I forgot to vacuum. And since I was already in a cleaning mode, I jumped on that chance to check that off the already surpassing “To DO” list.

But now…I can’t even remember what I was going to get out of my brain and blog about. Aw cracker barrel.

eh…ok. Going to have some icecream now… to take a break from the cleaning mode.

Kayle’s 1st Birthday!

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

I can’t believe my son turned 1 on Friday, June 20th! Wow! We enjoyed a special day which started off with a happy baby waking up at 5:30, followed by some play time, french toast for breakfast, playing outside, morning nap (for him…I had to work on my email support job), then he got up, had a hot dog and some grapes.

Before I forget

I was thinking it would be good to make a few notes (for whomever may pass by this site) of things going through my head under the category,  “I probably should write these down somewhere.”

So for the first thing, I wanted to mention some “signs”. Meaning, when my 10 1/2 month old starts to get fussy and clingy and doesn’t want to be put down and it happens in the morning time, then it is a “sign” he is ready for a nap.

ok. noted

Diary of a Matchbox 20 Addict

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Jan 28, 2008

Dear Diary. OH MY GOODNESS! I just got back from the MB20 concert!

Words can not express the joy…the elation…the excitement..the …wow!

Ok so I really really really love listening to Matchbox 20. In fact, the week before the concert I ran through songs and lyrics…well, that was my original intent. I ended up doing a crash course refresher the day before.

Yes, my super awesome husband gave me tickets for Christmas to see Matchbox 20. I had my outfit all planned out. I put my make up on. Did my hair.

Sat through Mute Math and Alanis Morisette (heh) and then…THEN!! Yep, after quite a bit of time, the band finally came out. Blamed some technological issues with lighting but WHO CARED!!! They were FINALLY OUT! Had I been about 10 -15 years younger I would have totally charged that stage and googled over Rob! But I am a happily married woman and I no longer do that (heh). Seriously though. Rob is not my type. Like I know him or something!

The great thing is that this is forever in my memory book. The sad thing is that some of those pages in the book are starting to fade!

Needless to say it was such a great Christmas Present and I would love to see them again! I have a live version of “Push” for my ring tone now! woohoo!

Things I love…

Monday, May 12th, 2008

I love (the most obvious) my husband and my son.

I love when it is 5:30 because that means my husband comes home. Often meeting Kayle and I at the park!

I love watching my 10 1/2 month old sleep. I put my finger in his hand and just stare at him or pray for him and just smile, smile smile!

I love the fact that daylight savings has returned…in the form of LONGER DAYLIGHT (actually didn’t mind losing the hour this time. Worked out great for us!)

I love being able to blog like this. Feels like life got a bit crowded for awhile.

I love meeting my neighbors. New. Not new.

I love meeing with my brother Paul on a weekly basis (well semi weekly now and soon he will be off for Alaska).

I love hiking! My husand and son took me out to Red Top Mountain for Mother’s day!

I love not being sick anymore! Well, not having morning sickness that is. I have this cough…ugh! hack hack hack

I love being able to clean my apartment. (rare occasion…is this a 2 “s” word? Too lazy to look that up…)

I love being surprised! (ex: my surprise 35th birthday party!)

I love being able to stop this blog right here.

You might be a redneck…

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

if you come to a surprise costume party and totally dress the redneck part!

Actually, I am still so amazed at what a wonderful husband and super family and friends that I have that would come out to my surprise party and totally get in to the role of the “Redneck Reunion.” Conrad and my friend Rachel planned the event. Rachel actually writes Murder Mystery parties (if you want her info…I would be happy to share it because you should totally get in touch with her to plan your next event. It will be “to die for!” Anyhow, everyone did great at keeping the secret. Even those who couldn’t come!

I am in a “can’t sleep” mode so I thought I would blog about it. I mean, yes, turning 35 is a big event and what a fun way to celebrate this big year. I don’t feel 35. I don’t act 35. I don’t look 35 (help, TLC’s 10 years younger!!) and I certainly really never thought I would be 35!

The whole event theme was about a Redneck Reunion between feuding family members. The character roles were as hilarious as my family/friends that portrayed them! Great job everyone!

Well, I am feeling tired now. Maybe I will go to sleep. Or maybe I will ponder about what I want to do when I “grow up”. or maybe I will just meditate on the philosophy of life. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
